Composition No. 1
Common quince — 1
Sweet violet — 2
The composition is designed around a contrasting combination of yellow and violet colors. The recommended color ratio is:
yellow — 3 parts
violet — 7 parts
The display is at its most decorative during the third ten-day period of April.
The combination of the airy yellow mass of quince blossoms and the rich violet carpet of violets enlivens the spring landscape of the park.
The area occupied by a single medium-sized quince shrub (height 2–2.5 m, diameter 3.5 m) is up to 14–18 m². For greater decorative effect, the composition should consist of 3–4 quince shrubs.
The group of quince shrubs and violets should be placed on a large open lawn, against the background of trees that have not yet leafed out. It is desirable for the group of violets to be located on the shaded side of the quince shrub.
The viewing distance should not exceed 3 meters.
